Tennessee Heartbeat Prayer Walk Prayer Guide: 120 minutes of prayer at 12:00 on August 12

To help one another be unified in prayer, there are suggested times to pray for each topic.

12:00

1. Thank and worship the Lord Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the LIFE.

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10

“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name… My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth… But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.” Psalm 63

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High… When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore.” Psalm 92:1;7-8

12:10

2. Thank God for the gift of life.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee,” Jeremiah 1:5

“But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts. I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.” Psalm 22:9-10

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.” Psalm 139:13-18

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” James 1:17-19

12:20

3.  Pray for the judges in our courts to do right, knowing that they are in the sight of God, and that they would be a terror to evil.

Pray that the three district courts in Tennessee, the sixth circuit court, and the US Supreme Court would adjudicate Heartbeat bills and other abortion legislation fairly. Pray against results-oriented adjudication

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.” Romans 13:1-4

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1

12:30

4.Pray for members of the senate judiciary committee by name.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.” 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Pray for Mike Bell, the chairman of the senate judiciary committee, who controls whether the Heartbeat Bill is voted on or not.

Pray for other members of the senate judiciary committee: Jon Lundburg, Dawn White, Janice Bowling, Todd Gardenhire, Sara Kyle, Kerry Roberts, Katrina Robinson, John Stevens

12:40

5.Pray again for specific politicians by name.

Pray by name for Representative Cameran Sexton, who will likely be the next speaker of the house. The Heartbeat Bills passed by the house and senate will have to be reconciled.

Pray by name for Lt. Governor Randy McNally who controls committee chair appointments and thus controls the committees.  He is influential and whether or not the Heartbeat bill will be voted on in the Senate.

12:50

6. Pray by name also for Senator Mark Pody and Representative Micah Van Huss, who are leading the charge for the Tennessee Heartbeat Bill to be passed.

Pray that God would bless Senator Pody’s courage  to fight for the lives of the unborn. Pray for other politicians to rise up with him and take a stand for life and righteousness.  Pray that the Senator’s efforts would be blessed at that the heartbeat bill would pass.

1:00

7. Pray in repentance on behalf of our nation, who has allowed this legalized murder for so long.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

1:10

8.  Pray for women who at this very moment may be considering an abortion, and for the fathers of these babies.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.” Psalm 46:1-5

“And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers…” Malachi 4:6

1:20

9. Pray for the conversion of those who perform abortions and those who assist them.

If you know names of specific people or places that offer elective abortions, please pray for them by name! Pray that God would bring understanding to those who believe that abortion is an acceptable option.

“The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous” Psalm 146:8

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6

1:30

10. Pray for those in your community who have had abortions.

Pray that God would heal their wounds and give them grace and courage to testify to the destructive nature of abortion.

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

1:40

11. Pray for Pro-life ministries, adoption agencies, churches, and your local Christian communities.

Pray for these to keep open doors and hearts to those who have had abortions. Pray that God would supply all their needs and inspire them with ideas of how to be the most effective in the fight against abortion. Pray that adoption and foster agencies would be successful in finding loving families for babies that are placed in their care.

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ…  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 2:6-10

1:50

12. Pray for the Tennessee Heartbeat Bill to Pass

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24
