Steve Lawson Briefly Appears As Conference Speaker, Then Is Purged From Website
18 months after being removed from “all ministry activities” by Trinity Bible Church in Dallas for having an inappropriate relationship with a young woman who was not his wife, prominent preacher and speaker Steve Lawson briefly appeared as a speaker at an upcoming Christian conference before being removed hours later.
Lawson, who publicly repented of his adulterous affair in March of last year, appeared at the Contending for the Faith Expository Preaching & Teaching Conference, which is presented by the Tennessee Baptist Missionary & Educational Convention (TBMEC), a regional body of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.
With an eye on Jude 3, the purpose of the conference is to “aide, arm, and empower pastors, ministers, spiritual leaders, and serious bible students with the necessary theological tools needed to become more masterful in proclaiming the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Lawson was originally listed as a keynote speaker, along with a spate of women pastors and preachers.
Specifically, he was listed as having several workshops on how to prepare a sermon, both on day one and on day three of the event.
However, he has since been removed from the website, and the speaker list went from 26 to 24.
We have reached out to conference organizers for more information and will update this post accordingly
